Remix Recipe №64
The Three Red Flags
Turn a hard decision you already made into three signs your people can check themselves against.
The hook template
This is your sign to scary action. Here are 3 things that helped me decide to same action, said shorter.
The hook in the wild
“This is your sign to stop trying to fix it. Here are 3 things that helped me decide to walk away.”
“This is your sign to actually retire. Here are 3 things that helped me decide to finally stop working.”
The recipe
- Topic
- A hard decision your audience is avoiding making
- Take
- The three signs that made the decision obvious for you, and the fact that you already decided
- Format
- A simple yap filmed outdoors, straight to camera with text on screen
The structure
- Give permission
Open by naming the scary action out loud, so someone already circling it feels seen. Do not tell them to do it.
- The sign they can see
Start with the physical symptom nobody can argue with, the one they notice in the mirror.
- The sign around them
Point at something outside them, so they stop reading it as a personal failing.
- The sign in their evenings
Describe the ordinary night that shows what the decision is quietly costing them.
- Stop before the how
Admit that doing it is the hard part, then promise the how in your next video.
Your Studio follows these beats when it writes your script.
Why it worked
She never once tells you to quit. She says these are the three things that helped her decide, which means you are the one making the call, and that is the only reason a video about leaving your job does not read as preachy.
The evidence does the rest. Hair falling out, waking multiple times a night, a doctor prescribing massages. All physical, none of it arguable. You can talk yourself out of feeling stressed, but you cannot talk yourself out of your hair falling out. Then she stops right before the useful part and promises the how in the next video, which turns one view into a follow.
