Remix Recipe №19 · Hard-Mode
The Forgotten Freedom
Surface a freedom your audience already has but forgot to use, and mobilize them to use it.
The recipe
- Drop into the childhood memory: Open with a rule everyone remembers from being a kid, calm and reflective, like a journal entry.
- Flip it to now: Contrast that rule with the grown-up agency your viewer technically has today.
- Name the freedom they're not using: Point to the specific thing they still wait for permission to do, so they feel seen.
- Hand over the permission: Give it to them directly and invite them into the ritual or series so it becomes something to follow.
Your Studio follows these beats when it writes your script.
“Remember when the kid-era rule? Now you can the freedom now.”
Your take: who you help already have the freedom to the freedom now, they just forgot to use it.

Why it worked
The reel plays on universal nostalgia by contrasting the rules of childhood (needing permission slips) with the unlimited agency of adulthood. That contrast surfaces a freedom the viewer has but isn't using, which makes them feel both seen and slightly mobilized. The series announcement turns that realization into a public ritual viewers can follow.
Examples
Solo money coach (for women in their 30s)
“Remember when you had to ask your mom for permission to spend your allowance?”
She contrasts it with grown women who still won't spend $40 on a candle without justifying it, and points out they're now the one who gets to sign the slip.
Solo confidence coach (for late bloomers)
“Remember when your teacher had to approve your topic before you could start?”
She contrasts it with adults still waiting for someone to validate their idea, and points out the only person who needs to greenlight it now is them.
Multiply it, one reel becomes your week
- Newsletter: a letter to your kid-self listing the agencies she'd be shocked you're not using as an adult.
- Thread: each post is one childhood rule and the adult equivalent you're still letting limit you.
- Carousel: one per slide, each "Remember when [kid rule]? Now: [agency you have but aren't using]."
- YouTube: a reflective essay on the agency you forgot you had and the moment you decided to start using it.
