Want to run the Trend Split yourself? It's an Instagram reel idea that adapts to any coaching business. See how a somatic coach for people who freeze under pressure and a money coach for people who overspend socially would make it theirs.
The recipe
- Name the trend: Pick something already circulating with a name your audience recognises. If they have not heard the word, there is no trend to split.
- Split it in two: Give both halves a name, not just the good one. A label for the version they are currently doing wrong is what makes them stop and self-diagnose.
- Say what going wrong costs: Be specific about the price of the wrong version. Promise upside and risk in the same breath.
- Explain why the right one works: Back it with a mechanism rather than a preference, so it is not just your opinion about which version is better.
Your Studio follows these beats when it writes your script.
Remix the hook for your brand
“Everyone's doing the trend, but there are two kinds, and one of them will what the wrong version costs”
I name both kinds of the trend, not just the one I recommend

Why it worked
She takes a trend her audience is already doing and splits it into two named versions, performative LARPing and developmental LARPing. Naming both halves is the whole move. Unnamed, it is a nuance nobody repeats. Named, it becomes a framework people use on themselves and quote to other people.
The hook works because it promises upside and risk in the same breath. The internet found the best way to change your life, and if you get it wrong you really get it wrong. Then she backs the good half with actual mechanism, the brain as a prediction machine and self-perception theory, so it is not just her opinion about which version is better.
Picking the trend matters. It has to be a named thing that is currently circulating, not just an activity. LARPing and second brain work because they already have names people recognise. Booking podcast guests or feeding a sourdough starter are tasks, so there is no trend to split. If the thing does not already have a name your audience has heard, it is not a Trend Split.
Examples
A somatic coach for people who freeze under pressure
“Everyone's regulating their nervous system, but there are two kinds and one of them is just avoidance.”
She names regulating versus retreating, then explains why capacity is built at the edge rather than away from it.
A money coach for people who overspend socially
“Everyone's loud budgeting, but there are two kinds and one is just announcing why you're broke.”
She names the version that sets a boundary and the version that performs one, then explains why saying the number out loud only works if you stop talking after it.
